Eaten by bugs and reptiles
Worst way to die. Ever.

Kinda like how no one was surprised when Steve Irwin bit it (or that dude in "Grizzly Man" got eaten by a grizzly bear), this dude was killed by one of his 200 pet spiders, then his body was partly consumed by the other insects and reptiles he kept as pets. DO NOT CLICK IF YOU HATE CREEPY CRAWLIES OR HORROR FILMS.

Wow. That's rather gross.

This is why I love my creepy-crawlies, but the closest I'd ever voluntarily come to the dangerous ones is on the other side of glass in an exhibit.

I wonder how the other insects and things got out of their boxes?

This article says that he let some of them roam free and that some of them escaped when their heating elements exploded.

The whole story sounds off though.

1) how the hell do they know that one spider is named Bettina?
2) it's unlikely that a black widow bite would kill an adult man
3) How do they even know he had a black widow to begin with? They're shy. It's not like she would have been hanging out on top of the body going CHECK IT OUT and flashing gang signs.
4) What the police found doesn't sound pleasant but it doesn't sound much different from what they'd find any time a body had been left awhile.

You know what that reminds me of? The squicky scene in Hook where they stick the guy in the trunk and drop the buggies in on him. EWWWWWIES.
