What! No Harvey Wallbanger? I'm stunned; or, I would be if I had just drunk one.

Agreed -- no Dark & Stormy and no Long Island Iced Tea, either. Not that I prefer a Harvey Wallbanger or a Long Island, but they probably at least belonged on the list.

is hot buttered rum really wtf? I thought it sounded interesting, but then, I'm not big on anything alcoholic int eh first place.

maybe it's just because anything with butter and sugar together has to be good, right? maybe I'll try it without the rum...

It's one of the few that I've actually heard of.

I've always wanted to try absinthe, but haven't yet gotten around to it.

Buy a bottle of aguardiente -- it's far cheaper, has a nice anise flavor, and can be used as a poor man's substitute. I do have a bottle of absinthe, but it will probably last me a LONG LONG time since I only use drops at a time.

Aguardiente is also a fantastic addition to a gin & tonic.

Lots of cocktails with eggs in them!

Don't let David see this!

My mom brought back some Pisco Sour mix from her trip home this summer. I haven't tried it, but everyone says it's really good. There's also Peruvian "chica", but that drink is seriously WTF because the grain is chewed up in the mouth (usually by andean villagers) before being fermented. :)

I love Pisco! However, I don't understand the whole Pisco Sour Mix thing... how hard is it to crack an egg, separate an egg white, juice a lemon, and add some simple syrup?

Yeah, I know what chica is too...and I've heard how nasty it can be. But honestly, these indigenous folks have never been exposed to antibiotics, so the strains in their mouths are more or less pure. How can it be any more dangerous than sourdough bread?

Now I know what to do with that bottle of Peruvian pisco that's been sitting in my freezer for ages on end.

I had always seen it with bourbon. :(

I prefer the rye in the Manhattan and many other mixed drinks... I think it just mixes better. Plus, why ruin good bourbon?

It probably also explains why I find manhattans so disgusting. I hate bourbon with anything but spring water.

I've decided that Drambuie should go on waffles.
